Komoru-hi
2021
Exhibition at Totan, Tokyo
Duo exhibition with a Hinata Mori, an artist based in Hokkaido, Japan. The exhibition was organized in unusual conditions; in the middle of the pandemic, I contacted Mori out of blue via email to make an exhibition together in Tokyo, discussed about our works and exhibition concept etc,. We met for the first time at the site Totan, an old wooden house in Tokyo. We installed our works together on the same day we met, took few hours. For a week, we resided in the exhibition space together, had food together, walk around Yanaka area.
The exhibition title 籠もる日/komoru-hi can be translated as “Days of hibernation”. It represents the weird, complicated time we are living in; even during the pandemic, one could meet new people, create an idea together and realize it.
